Wängl Tängl Day Three: Rest Day

Because of the  weather  the Snow program got pushed back by one day. 30 cm of fresh wet snow and no visibility at all were the conditions up on the mountain. So the riders could take the day off to rest and prepare for the Training session which is on all day today.

At night during the Riders Meeting, the teams drew for the head to head battle, the teams that will battle each other in Heat 1 are: Team 99 vs. The Collective, Since 1966 vs. Team F.A.T.,Triple Cock vs. SPN-Crew, The Italian Connection vs. Team X-Double. Then for Heat 2: Team Absolut vs. Good, Bad and Ugly, Off The Wall vs. Natural Born Chillaz, Team Homies vs. YMCA, The Djudes vs. Cunning Stunts.

After the Riders Meeting/Draw Everyone headed out to the Scotland Yard Pub where the DuzzDownSan Label Night went off.

Program Update for the Wängl Tängl Qualification

Program Update for Tängl Quali Teams – Snow Element

For all Crews looking at setting up a Snow team for the 10th Anniversary of the Vans Wängl Tängl by G-Shock over the 17th – 24th of March 2012, here is an update on the inscription process, the Tängl Quali program and other important information for the Vans Wängl Tängl.

The Snow element is split into two sections for 2012 – The Tängl Quali’s and the Tängl Teams Main Event, please find all information on the Tängl Quali element.

Tängl Quali’s Program – Saturday 17th – Sunday 18th March, 2012

The Tängl Quali seciton is open to Pro, Semi-Pro and Pro-Am level park, shop, riding or friend crews who are interested in putting a 3-Man team together. Interested teams can need to follow the inscription process here and is open to a maximum of 30-Teams on first come, first reviewed basis.

The selection process is ongoing, meaning crews can update their photo’s or videos at any time. The official Tängl Quali program is focused over the weekend for teams that have school, work or other commitments.

Saturday 17th of March –  Training Day

Pick up lift passes, sign waiver form, ride Vans Penken Park all Day (Crews who need it – Accommodation FREE on Saturday Night  if required (Tängl Quali crews accommodation at Snow Element Home base - The Gasthof Zillertal).

Sunday 18th of March -   Tängl Qualification Day  

Team Captains receive 3x ‘Judge Me’ Cards, cashable in any of Sunday’s Judged Sessions between 09:00 and 15:30.

Top Three scoring teams progress to the 16-Team, Head-to-Head Tängl Teams Main Event starting on Monday 20th March, carrying 15,000 Euro Prize money. Progressing teams receive FREE accommodation, lift and party passes for the rest of the week.

Tängl Quali benefits with Accreditation and Event Inscription:

Welcome to the Vans Wängl Tängl 2012 presented by G-Shock

The Vans Wängl Tängl announces a new open qualification format designed to create the largest gathering of shred crews to battle it out in the famous supersized Vans Penken Park, customised for the event with another Red Bull Endsection by Ästhetikers Steve Gruber and Wolle Nyvelt.

For the 10th Anniversary, the event is opening up to accept no less than Thirty, 3-Man Qualifications Teams. Inscriptions are now open to all shop, friend, park, region or shred crews who think they have what it takes to go up against the best to nominate their Team into the qualification element of the Vans Wängl Tängl 2012. Any Team interested in applying needs to download the Team Quali Info Pack, fill out and return the Rider Data Sheet, Responsibility Waiver Form and create your own Crew Facebook Page.

Each application will be reviewed by the Ästhetiker Jury, who are waiting to be blown away by photographs, web clips, articles, contest results, backcountry pow kickers and/or video parts posted onto your Crew Facebook Page. Applications reviewed weekly on a first in first served basis.

Every Friday morning starting on the 30th of December, 2011, an Official Tängl Team and confirmation of two Tängl Qualification crews will be announced. Didn’t make the cut this week? Don’t worry. You are still in the game with a chance to be called out the following week. Updates to your Crew Facebook Page encouraged and will be reviewed weekly.

On Monday, the 12th of March, the final four Tängl Qualification Teams will be announced filling the remaining open event slots to complete the Thirty Team Qualifiers.

Now it is up to you. Get your crew out there to shred, smash, stomp, shoot and post everything you can on your Crew Facebook Page…
